Gastric Sleeve (Sleeve Gastrectomy)
Gastric Sleeve is a bariatric surgical procedure in which a significant portion of the stomach is removed, leaving a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach.
The smaller stomach limits the amount of food it can comfortably hold. The procedure may also affect hormones involved in hunger and appetite.
Unlike gastric bypass, gastric sleeve does not reroute the small intestine.
